Florida Fishing Hybrid Striped Bass

Hybrid Striped bass are a species of bass that is crossed between striped bass and white bass. They are an incredibly fun species to catch.

Today, I had the pleasure to fish with my long time friend Bob. He loves when the hybrids are running. These bass are on the river in numbers and are chasing around shad all day long.
We had an absolute blast on the water catching right around 20 hybrids. You could cast anywhere in the area of them and they will come chase your bait.

Bob loved throwing top water to catch the hybrids. They would chase and explode up on it multiple times. Walking that Rapala “skitter walk” produced most of the action. Bob was also catching them on my custom made Steel Shad Lures.

Florida Fishing in these warmer months has been amazing and is only getting better. When traveling or visiting Florida come experience something you may not have.
