Lake Okeechobee Bass Trip

When comes to Florida, the outdoors is the place to be. Enjoy a football game and a Lake Okeechobee Bass Trip when visiting this great state for an adventure of a lifetime.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Craig and Michelle. They were traveling from Alabama to watch a college football game in Gainesville. Both really wanted to experience what Lake Okeechobee had to offer.

Craig and Michelle came down to Lake Okeechobee and we fished out of Garrads Bait and Tackle in Okeechobee City. They were experienced fisherman and wanted to catch largemouth bass on both live and artificial baits. Live shiners are always the most effective but we caught some on a Carolina rig as well.

Craig and Michelle caught right around 30 fish with even a cat fish to throw in a mix. We did not see any giants on board but really enjoyed the beautiful day on the water. The late afternoon trip allowed for an amazing sunset to gleam over the lake.

Lake Okeechobee is looking really good for this season. Water clarity is perfect and you couldn’t ask for better fishing conditions with the water levels coming down. You can still experience mud in some areas when the wind blows.

Holiday season is here and you better book fast before we book up. The big bass will continue to move in as the season approaches. Tight lines till next time!
